About Subscriptions

Imagine just clicking a couple buttons and your favorite comics show up at your door each month or week, whichever you decide. Not only that, but they come pre-bagged & boarded and if you have at least $25 - $50 worth of comics in your shipment, they come in our awesome premium storage box for free or a hefty discount. See the membership pricing tier below for more details. Lets be real, you’re planning on buying them anyway, why not subscribe and get free comic book storage too?

What is a Cartel Membership Fee? You become a Cartel Member when you activate and receive subscriptions with us, you don't have to select or do anything further than that. The membership includes all the great features at the bottom of the graphic above. If you don't qualify for the top tier (spending $50+ per month or have hit the $25+ per month spend and opted out of getting Cartel Boxes) the membership fee will automatically apply to your last charge of the month.

Do I have to pay a membership fee when making a normal purchase from your store? Nope! However you will qualify for free or discounted boxes according to the same tier plan above. If you hit the $25-49.99 tier you will get the option to purchase a Cartel Box for $5.99. If you $50+ you will automatically get a cartel box or 40 for free!

*NOTE: If you do not want Cartel Boxes at all you can opt out of getting those completely to avoid the Cartel Membership fee at the $25-49.99 price tier.

How To Subscribe To Comic Books:

Search for a comic you want and when you find it, click into the Series (ex: Batman = Series). Once in there, click “Subscribe” and you’re done!

In order to make sure you get your comics you have to add a card to your account. To do this, click on your username dropdown > Settings > Billing & Subscriptions > Add New Payment Method. Once you’ve added a card, make sure to choose and choose monthly or weekly shipping. Shipping is roughly $7 to $9 per shipment, depending on how many comics you have and where you live.

You can see what issue your subscriptions are starting with by going to your Releases section. There you will see issues for your active or inactive subscriptions broken out by release week. Look for a yellow banner in the corner of the issue cover, this represents the issues you will be charged for. The issues that don't have this banner you will not be getting automatically. If you want these you will need to purchase them when after they are released and add them to your subscription shipment via the "Add To My Subscription" shipment option at checkout.

You also can check your Order History to see what you’ve purchased and what subscriptions you’ve been charged for. Now if you’re ever thinking, “oh man...I wonder if I’m getting Computer Beach Party Monster #12 this month?” you just go to one of these and check it out.

Frequently Asked Subscription Questions:

When will I get charged for my subscriptions?

We charge twice a month by default for any active series/issues on your push list (i.e. subscribed to) that are being released the following 2 weeks. A few times a year there are 5 release weeks in a month, during those months you'll see 3 total charges. You can opt in to get charged weekly if you'd prefer

Why won’t I get the next issue being released?

We have a deadline (called Final Order Cutoff or FOC) where we have to send in all comic book orders to the distributor and it's roughly around 3 weeks ahead of an issue's release date. If you aren’t getting the next issue of the comic you subscribed to, it’s because you added it past it’s FOC deadline, so you’re starting with the one that comes after that. But you can purchase the issue when it's released and choose "Add to my subscription shipment” though.

What if I decide I don’t want a title?

Just click on the drop-down menu under your name, click into your Pull List then switch any series to “In-Active” or click “Unsubscribe” on the title you no longer want.

Will my subscription start with issue #1?

Only if it’s a new comic and your subscription is activating on issue #1. If it’s an older comic, no. For example if the current issue of the comic you want to subscribe to is on issue #25, you won’t start with issue #1. The comics industry just doesn’t work that way, sorry. Look into your Releases section to see what issue you’ll start with. The previous issues to most series will be collected in editions called trades (or graphic novels) that you can purchase. Search the site to see if we have them or request a special order from us using our in-site messaging system found in the bottom right corner of this window.

How many premium storage boxes will I get per order?

You must buy $50 worth of comics to get a free storage box. If you fill that box, you get another free box. The box fits anywhere around 15-18 depending on how thick the comics are. So we say you get another one after you “Fill the first box” ... we know that’s a vague term but it’s impossible for us to know. Please see the membership tiers section at the top of this page for more details.

The exception to this rule is deeply discounted purchases. To get a second box when you've purchased comics that are deeply discounted will need to spend another $50 for the second, third etc. box.

Do I get my books every month or every week?

It’s your choice! We offer both monthly and weekly shipping in your subscription options choose monthly shipping to save a little dough and we’ll ship them to you at the end of every month. If the weekly shipping cost doesn’t bother you, subscribe choose that and get them every week.

How long will it take to get my comic books?

Depending on where you live typically 1-3 days after processing. Unfortunately, in rare cases, it could take up to 5-7 days due to things such as uncontrollable USPS delays etc. You will always receive a tracking number for each shipment so you can keep an eye on it both in your order history (full tracking info) and emailed.

How fast is the speed of light?

Awesome, we love science! The speed of light in a vacuum is 186,282 miles per second (299,792 kilometers per second), and in theory nothing can travel faster than light. In miles per hour, light speed is, well, a lot: about 670,616,629 mph. If you could travel at the speed of light, you could go around the Earth 7.5 times in one second.
